Error 718: Timeout waiting for valid response from PPP peer.
The reasons for the said error could be due to :-
The PPP protocol negotiation phase is taking too long
The modem may be retraining or renegotiating during PPP/LCP
The modem may need an inialisation string to stabilise its operation
* After receiving this error, switch OFF the computer, wait a minute and then restart your computer. Once it has restarted wait until all applications have completely loaded before trying to reconnect.
* If the problem persists and if there are no network outages being reported the problem might be originating from your computer. In this case recreate your Broadband PPPoE Connection.
* If the problem persists, it may be due to corrupt configuration files for authentication on your system. Temporarily the problem can be solved by installing PPPoE dialer, which you can download from Downloads section of this site.
